Dr. Arumugam graduated from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts, with a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance and earned her medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine in the West Indies, Grenada. She then completed her residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York.
A member of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Arumugam specializes in providing comprehensive care to hospitalized patients. She most recently completed her training in ambulatory and medical intensive care while gaining experience in various subspecialties, including cardiology, hematology/oncology, infectious diseases and emergency medicine, among others. She also recently completed and published research on the antiatherogenic effects of myocardial bridging in adults by conducting a histological and immunohistochemical analysis.
Dr. Arumugam joins the team of board-certified physicians at Lexington Hospitalists to provide comprehensive inpatient care at Lexington Medical Center. These specially trained physicians reflect the hospital’s commitment to offering advanced medicine and compassionate care to patients while they are in the hospital.
